Stephen King's chilling canon continues to supply the horror sphere with a limitless source of inspiration. Next in line to receive the silver screen treatment is The Boogeyman, a future film adaptation steered by director Rob Savage (The Host).

Recently, The Boogeyman received an official MPA Rating, and the results make for fairly grim viewing. (Thankfully for us rabid hellhounds!)

According to the Film Ratings Board, The Boogeyman (2022) has been issued a PG-13 rating, due to what it cites as "terror, violent content, teen drug use, and some strong language."

Here's the Boogeyman (2022) Story Synopsis

“Still reeling from the tragic death of their mother, a teenage girl and her little brother find themselves plagued by a sadistic presence in their house and struggle to get their grieving father to pay attention before it’s too late.”

Based on Stephen King's Night Shift short story collection, The Boogeyman reboot will presumably have some source material expanded upon considering it's a more diminutive tale. As for "terror," "violence," and "strong language," these elements feature throughout the book.

Boasting a high-quality cast, The Boogeyman will flaunt the acting talents of Sophie Thatcher (Yellowjackets), Chris Messina (Birds of Prey), and, of course, David Dastmalchian, whose imposing screen presence is so suited to horror. So no shortage of acting pedigree there!
