James Wan & Jason Blum are discussing the mouth-watering prospect of a collaborative horror merger between Atomic Monster & Blumhouse Productions, reports suggest.

The horror realm appears to be hot property right now and business is booming. Recently, Paramount Pictures installed Walter Hamada to oversee the production of "several mid-budget horror films for theaters and streaming a year", following the success of Smile.

According to Variety, horror aficionados, Jason Blum (Paranormal Activity) and James Wan (Insidious) have entered "advanced talks to merge their companies, Blumhouse Productions and Atomic Monster," culminating in what Variety is calling "a mega house of chills and thrills."

Seemingly looking to expand the Blumhouse brand, Variety also says the company is "currently under a first look deal with Universal, which would extend to Atomic Monster as long as the deal closes. Wan’s first-look deal with Warner Bros. ended earlier this year after nearly a decade."

First picked up by The New York Times, Wan told the tabloid of their relationship, stating, “We really do complement each other, yin and yang, which is part of what makes this so exciting.”

Variety suggests the merger will not impact the "creative autonomy and brand identity" of the respective parties, while one of the primary principles behind the partnership is to "increase the output from each side" within the realms of "horror-related games, live entertainment, and audio."

In another exciting slice of news, The New York Times reports that the duo is currently circulating the idea of an M3GAN successor - next year's hotly anticipated horror.

What's the key takeaway here hellhounds? Well, the horror landscape appears to be thriving right now, which ultimately means more hellish horror experiences on the horizon! Seems like a match made in heaven to me!
